Tangerine...Marmalade.....Creamsicle...

We were at our favorite LFS today trading plants for dry goods and Hubby calls me over to look at this gorgeous betta. He is kind of tangerine, marmalade, creamsicleish color. Knock down gorgeous and hubby is playing with it, trailing his finger back and forth on the glass. I asked if he was ready for another Betta (he has one at home in a ten g), he said no I guess not. I went back to gathering stuff up and looking at stuff. They had beautiful Rams and while I was deciding whether I wanted any or not hubby wandered back to the Betta. After the sales person caught my Rams( I couldn't resist) Hubby says "and the Betta too". so now we have a new Betta He is in a 29g quarantine tank with five mystery snails and three kuhli Loaches.
I love this store, they keep their bettas spread around the store in 10g plant tanks, one Betta to a tank.
Heres a not real good pic of him. so what shall we name him, I asked the Betta what his name was and he's refusing to talk

He's a dream come true.....My name for him would be "Dreamsicle" (But I'd call him "Dreamer")

He's beautiful and he couldn't have asked for a better home! Congratulations!

Thanks He's such a pretty creamy orange color with darker spots. Since he's hubbys fish I guess we'll have to think of something masculine.
His tail is so pretty, it just fades color down until it's clear on the edges. he's nice and plump and healthy. Ok I'm rambling now

As you know I wanted the blues to pair(having NO idea whether I had a pair or not), they laid and all the eggs turned white which means they weren't fertilized. i was so depressed thinking I had two females now they've done it again and some of the eggs are viable and some turned white(means he's just young and inexperienced) but I do have a pair after all (wahoo!!!) the eggs should go wigglers sunday I can't wait! will add pics to the other thread(Angels gone bonkers... when they get big enough to take pics of)

Congrats on your new betta boy. Man I wish my husband would pick out bettas and beg me to bring them home. Maybe in my next life.....sigh..... You new boy is so pretty. He looks kinda pink to me on my computer. Is that really his color or is he more orange? Either way he is such a cutie. Don't forget to post pics of the new rams. I wish I could keep them, but have never had any luck. Congrats on your angel babies as well. Gosh, lots is happening fishwise at your house

Beautiful fish.
If you can get more pics of it (maybe in a couple of different types of lighting), I'd like to see. Like MissMTS said, he looks pink (or maybe peach) to me. I've never seen an orange betta and would like to see the colors.

Well he is a lovely Dalmation so DALLY or MATT or something to do with being a dalmation. He is the most unique colored dalmation I have seen. Usually they go more yellow than the orange so he is strikingly gorgeous. Congratulate him on finding you and your husband on the decision to adopt this handsome fellow. He is wonderful!

Here's some more bad pics of our baby. Today he seems to have just a touch of pale blue in the very edges of his fins. look at that cute little up turned nose.
He's almost the same color as his terra cotta cave(He took over the BN cave shhh don't tell them)
the camera still doesn't do his color justice aaarrrgghh
Excuse the Q tank, I leave it stacked with pots and such and the walls algaed up because I never know who's going to live in there for a while.

Pumpkin has a new home. It's a five gallon tank(he'll go to a 10g when i find a place to put it ) with heater and HOB filter. Seeded with filter media from cycled filter and Marbles from Betta Boys tank.
He's also discovered the reflection of his movements in the marbles. One minute he's swimming the next he's standing on his nose. Yikes! He's been flipping around the tank and playing in the bubbles. and of course hubby said he HAD to have a boat

Thanks! he keeps seeing movement reflected in his marbles and will dart down and stare at it really hard then swim away with his nose in the air. There one more marble conquered.
Wish you were here to take a good pic of him
