that poor Sebastian didn't make it thru his treatment. I have been treating him for fin rot for weeks. As we all know it is a secondary symptom to something else. This time, Sebastian had parasites. I put coopersafe in all of my tanks after discovery my keyholes are/have been treated for worms a contagious kind. Seb had the same worms. The coopersafe brought them out this afternoon, but 7pm he was gone. I think that is what killed my last 4 betta too. RIP my sweet betta boy.
Again the reason my signature is supporting quarentine tanks...I AM learning from moving my fish around too much.

This is another reason that I am suggesting that fish from the Orient especially be put on hold for the time being. The chance of fish from the waters here carrying parasites are so much less. The fish that go through quarantine after being brought in before being sold also have a much smaller chance of carrying parasites. When you purchase direct from a breeder and especially one with not many purchases listed you take a great chance. Those breeders who have sold for many months and have hundreds of sales behind them are probably safe but those with only a few sales I would not touch with a ten foot pole. Divided tanks are another danger that has been practiced lately that I am afraid are a cause of some of the tragedies we have experienced and I am truly hoping that this is a fad that burns itself out.

Allie, I hope you know how truly sorry that I am that Sebastian did not make it. You know that I too know that the loss of a betta or any loved fish is a real tragedy. I send you the most heartfelt sympathy and hope that there are no more such in your life. I know that this board will pull together and offer you their most sincere feelings of sympathy and sadness over your loss. We will keep you and your other little ones in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks all. I am tired of losing betta...everyone else is doing fine *knocks wood*. Even my other sick fish are better.
Down to 4 Betta...hopefully I can keep the rest. BUT if they have been exposed to the parasites too, I could loose them all. I have treated everyone with both Coopersafe & Maracyn 2. Sebastian was the only one who reacted negatively.
ALL the fish from our LFS come from the same place in China...so I am not getting anymore fish from them. I will be rescuing betta again...I just want to wait to see how things go with my last 4 guys. Don't want to expose anymore fish to the parasites or whatever is happening here.
