Thanks everyone, I just adore it
I do not plan on dividing anymore tanks ...in fact, I plan on getting at least 2 more tanks so I can let my boys have the 10 gallon tanks for themselves And move my 2 girls into there own tanks I'm thinking the 5ga hex's...Then everyone will have there own tank sooner or later

I use the same tank for my betta and I love it! The only problem was I wasn't liking the power on the water filter on it (even though it's really quiet), so the other day I upgraded to a 20gal BioWheel. It's one of the best tanks I've seen for bettas in terms of size and shape -- that long, shallower dimension is most natural for their swimming. Plus it's a really good price!

That's a lovely setup you have there! Yay for you and the lucky betta that lives in it.

I love the look of the book shelf tanks, you're looks great.

I'm not a big fan of the 5g hex, I hated cleaning it and it doesn't provide much swim surface.
Some members here like them, so you might also.

Your tank looks great! I really want to get one of those for each of my bettas when I have room for them. They are great tanks! I just have one question....did it come with a heater or did you have to buy one seperately?

This is a very good tank. I have one and pretty happy with it. I had a minor problem with the filter but now it works great. The filter is quiet and it does a good job keeping water clean. I found out that Whisper Bio-Bag Cartridges size Med. http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2753024 are perfect to use with the filter. The only minus - like every acrylic tank this one is very easy to scratch.

The tank did not come with a heater... but I purchased one when I ordered the tank
I think I need more substrate though and am not totally pleased with the look yet
But I love this tank I am using my med size filter media from my other tank to help with the cycle, this filter has a flow control which I love as does my Ripley My hubby was not to thrilled when he saw yet another tank last night So I will be holding off on getting any more for a while

Congrats! Yea, they're great tanks and our Bettas love them! Maybe your hubby would like the idea that you can get a durable shelf unit and fit all of the Betta tanks in a smaller area.

I must be the only one who isn't thrilled with it! I find that it heats very unevenly, regardless of what heater i'm using.

Have you tried Hydor Theo heaters or VisiTherm Stealth heaters? We have those in the tanks and they keep pretty equal temp. from one end to the other.

Maybe it depends on the heater placement? Would having it in the center near the filter make it able to heat evenly or does it need to be placed differently?

Also, what about the lighting on these? What is the type of bulb it come with? Can the lights it comes with be replaced with stronger ones or would that mean having to get a new hood?

I wasn't getting the greatest heat distribution until I upgraded the water filter to a 20gal BioWheel. I think the air stone is helping to "stir" the water up some and keep the heat nice and even in there too, it's always 81F in there now. Also, yes it could just be the heater you're using!

Sadly, the only cutout designed for a heater in the top is on one end... I'm sure if you were so inclined, however, you could make adjustments.

I just put an air stone near the heater so that it circulates the heat as well as the water and have had no issues with it so far I love this tank and so dos Ripley Her color has improved and she's definitely more active!!
