Will it ever grow back???

Although he looks healthy enough, Flash's tail just doesn't seem to want to grow back. But he can still dance!

Halley managed to rip off a piece of zucchini and was running around with it until I finally took it away from her.

Oh, and my sorority tank is back down to four, just when I had thought the new girls were getting settled in they started up trouble. They are residing in my old 10 gallon tank that I don't really have room for until a friend of mine moves and I am going to let her adopt them tank and all. Miss Blue just thought she could take on everyone, despite the fact that she appeared to get the worst of it. She is the most spirited girl I've seen, and she needs to be by herself. As far as the yellow girl, she acted ok, but nobody else in the tank liked her. Sometimes you just have to do what they tell you, lol.

healing can be sped up dramatically with the use of products like garlic gaurd, fish proctor, and vitachem

We use those and do extra water changes when working on fin regrowth.

Yes, he's gotten all that. I've taken every measure possible to make sure he doesn't have anyway to re-injure himself. I removed the skull from his tank and buried the bottom half of the driftwood so there is no overhang and put a plant in the way of the filter intake, although honestly I don't think any of these things were harming him.

Bo's tail has always been "here today gone tomorrow". I also do the water changes, use fish protector, vitachem, garlic guard. He's always been active, seemingly healthy happy and interactive.
But recently i had to treat his tank for cyanobacteria, with Maracyn. The bacteria/algae stuff is gone, but his tail is also looking better and continuing to grow instead of being torn up again.
Hmmm...

Yes definitely it will grow back. My betta fish also had a big portion of his fin bitten off. And it managed to grow back. But it's still slightly shorter than the original. But I would say it's going to take quite a long time to heal without any product. So I'd suggest you to use some product to speed up the recovering.

Yes he needs a good protein food like bloodworms rather than pellets which are mostly grains and starches. Their fins are all protein and the more protein in their diet the better they will heal but they need to be limited too just like before so they are not overstuffing and getting constipated. So follow the betta feeding guidelines for all foods and no more than 3 to 5 bloodworms depending on his size twice a day. And soak them in Garlic Guard if they are freeze dried to keep them from plugging him up. Keep up with the super clean conditions and the VitaChem and Fish Protector (but keep in mind that This is Not a medication only a supplement to help keep the fish calm and not stressed so they do not harm or overstress themselves). Rid Fungus will help if there has been any edge problem with frayed or darkened edges but can keep some growth from happening if there is no fungal problem present. So Watch this fish closely and try to keep the conditions as clean as possible and give him the best food you can and always give Vitachem and Fish Protector and Rid Fungus if necessary and Garlic Guard if you are using dried bloodworms and always give pea treats to prevent constipation and keep the temperature at the levels he needs (between 78 to 81 degrees) to help him to maintain optimum health. It will grow back and we will certainly hope it will be just as before although it has been known to grow back different, but we know that you will love your little guy no matter what it grows back as. Sometimes there is scar tissue and it happens, and we have to accept it and go on but he will still be the same loving and beautiful little fish that you have cared for and have feelings for and would not trade for the world and neither would we. Just practice the hardest thing in the world to do...patience. Enjoy your lovely friend, my friend.
