Betta's in a large tank

Hi Folks,
I just got a 78 Gallon tank, the Cycle is finished and is ready for fishes.. I am thinking of Beta and tetra's.. im actually thinking of two females and one male.. but started thinking because of the size of the tank ..Can 2 males exist in a large tank.. or will they go at it..

thanks

Two males will definitely fight. AND he may kill the females. You could have the one male or a bunch of females as long as the tank is heavily planted. 75g is a lot of space so you could get 10-15 females with tetra. Add like 4 females at at or all at once so no one has establsihed a territory
Just remember MOST betta should be alone in a 3-5g, a 10g. The odd male betta can get along in a community tank.

The odds are pretty slim, although the tetras might do more damage to the Bettas than they would to each other. I wouldn't put any Bettas in there.

forgot to mention its neon tetra's.. I read they were compatible with Betta's.. i think i'll wait a few days to see which fishes to go with... ill probably start with the Neon's and Cardinal's.. they are more social..

Neon tetras are not compatible with male bettas. Their brilliant reds/blues caues identity confusion and the betta is likely to stalk and attack them if he can. Most other types of tetras will rip a betta's fins.

Or, should we call it, 'all out warfare'... And the Betta will be losing by the way. Females may stand a better chance, but really seriously consider this first. A group of female Betta is volatile at the best of times, deadly at the worst. It can look great today, but world war 3 has a good chance of breaking out in your tank tomorrow with Females.

Hi Eric
With such a nice large tank why not go with big fish instead? You have the room for it!
