Get some decent shots of the little ones?

How, how, how, how do you guys get such wonderful pictures of your little boys and girls? I just picked up my fourth little girl, beautiful red that I just can't wait to show off. All my girls are beautiful (then again, as are all bettas ) and I'd love to at least get one picture of each that does them justice.

I'm pretty sure its mostly my fault but I'm sure some of it can be blamed on the camera (Kodak EasyShare C5333 I think? It does great with landscape pictures and I can get some nice ones of the cats but fish and just even the tanks - no luck). I know if I just keep trying I'll get something but I fear I'm going about the wrong way and that someday I get something will be many, many, many months away.

How do you all get such nice pictures?

Oh and on a side note. My newest little girl I've named Misa - I saw her a few days ago when I went to pick up some first bites and was thrilled she was still there... a little sad that she didn't get adopted but still thrilled she was there just for me.

Yeah, thats what I keep hearing. I just get so frustrated when they're just sitting there but I end up missing it because as soon as I'm ready to take the picutre they're off zipping around until I'm ready to take another break. Or one of my cats comes and wants all the attention - the y end up hogging all the got shots (I can't believe hoe jealous my cats are of the bettas and vise versa).

I want to get a new camera, the one I use actually belongs to my parents but I've always wanted my own. Something that can actually take more than two pictures a minute would be nice - really help with getting a few thousand so I can get those two quicker ^_~

Try using the macro setting. I got a couple good shots that way.

Edit: Congrats on the new little girl!

Macro is the best way to get good fish pictures, and my camera also has settings for specific subjects such as "portrait", "low light", etc. so I choose a close-up option like "flower". But the main thing is take a lot of pitures and eventually get a few good ones.

Also, instead of following your betta around the tank, aim the lens at one spot and focus it and wait for them to swim into view. My boys come to whereever they see my finger, so I aim and focus then press my finger to the glass to "call" them.

Good luck and congratulations on your new addition!

Macro setting, flash on the manual mode (not automatic) point the lense down a bit and hold the camera close to the glass......After that, just wait until your baby sits still and click! It's that simple, really it is

I also use a mirror to get his attention and draw him over to the part of the tank I want to shoot in...They really flare well and If they are to active I remove the mirror and mine will just stay in a flare but in one place looking for that other bad betta once it is gone...lol...kinda like now where did he go.
