I am a regular on a cat site too (duh). Anyhow the girl who runs the site posted pix of her betta in a fish bowl on Friday. He is a gorgeous blue mustard gas veil tail who she got to liven up her office.
She has like 8 cats and take care of them really well. SO I figured she would want to know how to take of her betta properly. So I told her right int he post how to take care of her fish right. Yesterday she bought him a 2.5g with filter and heater & new food etc. She is cycling it & when it's ready her betta has a bigger home. She even commented on her fish's personality. So I went on about how much betta are like cats. She said she's noticed that her betta is very interested in her.
A few other members were interested about the betta care too. So they are all fixing the wrongs & making them right.
Sometimes telling people what to do with their fish actually sinks in.

I have found that most cat people really do want to know what to do for their pets though. I never have difficulty with explaining the fish to them and having them understand pet care at all. I think there is a rapport there. Congratulations on making the connections, Allie. You could invite them to join Fishlore if you want to.

good job.. (this is coming from a person that just put her cat on craigslist) I just have to get rid of her, shes getting mean w/ the kids. I told my husband that my fish were better pets anyways. I love cats, and have always had a cat in the house, but she is destructive to my children! So shes gotta go...
I def have noticed a personality in my betta since I got him!

I think Angels are more 'dog-like' and Bettas more 'cat-like' but at the same time have personality traits of both.

It's great that she listened to you and she might be upgrading him again when she really sees how more room means more personality and fun for her Betta.
