Is my tank big enough

Hi

I have a 28l aquastart 320 tank. i have 7 platies in it.

Is this big enough to add a betta into and will he be happy.

It's actually very overstocked. Each platy would need about 2 US gallons, bringing that tank to 14 US gallons.. I think around 42 liters. With that many fish, I'd recommend cleaning it and doing 25-40% water changes 2x a week.

Bettas are tough to mix with Platys and it results in failure more often than not.

Get a larger tank for the platys, then you could put a betta in the 5g by him/herself.

Bettas often mistake platies for females of the betta species and will fight with them or even kill them or the platies will end up nipping the bettas fins. It does not work to mix the two kinds of fish. It is better to do as was suggested to get a bigger tank for the platies and let the betta have the 28L tank as it would be big enough for a betta if he/she was alone in there and they do not mind in the least being alone in a tank, in fact they rather prefer it that way.
