Water conditioners

Yesterday my betta Buddha got a fin rip. (I hope it is a fin rip not a fin rot.) I keep his water super clean (25% water changes every day), and use Vita-Chem ones a week. I have read here that Stress Coat works really well on fin rips. I treat tap water with Prime. Is it OK to use Stress coat with Prime? Not too much chemicals?

I dont think that would be a problem, but again Im not a fish expert so hopefully someone else can back me up on this question.

Stress Coat is a kind of watered down version of the Fish Protector that Dave uses with the Prime he also uses to dechlorinate and treat the tap water he uses in his tanks. It is fine to mix them. Stress Coat's active healing agent is just Aloe and will help to soothe and calm him and relax him and help him to heal. The super clean conditions and Vitachem (which should go to daily until he is healed) will be the thing that helps the most. If the healing does not seem to be helping very soon then I would start a round of Triple Sulfa as well just to make sure finrot does not start.

To Start with though the treatment of StressCoat or Fish Protector, Prime, Daily Water Changes, Daily VitaChem will go a long way to help.

I agree with Rose and a drop or 2 of Garlic Guard daily could also be a help to guard against infection.

If you can get Fish Protector, I very highly recommend it.. it's amazing stuff and I usually keep 2 or 3 bottles of it stocked.
