My new betta.. feeding questions???

Okay, I got him yesterday, and I got the betta pellets. I have frozen bloodworms that I feed the cichlids and I was wondering if I should drop him in a couple of them as they are thawed every couple days? Is there anything else that I should feed him?
He doesn't seem to race to the pellets.... I know he is eating them, just not to happy about it.

For our Bettas, we feed them 4 foods really:
1) Hikari frozen bloodworms (3 thawed worms per meal)
2) Ocean Nutrition Betta Food pellets (3 per meal - soaked in Vitachem if you'd like)
3) Thawed & peeled frozen pea (3 Betta Food pellet sized pieces per meal)
4) A sprinkle of Hikari freeze-dried Daphnia for a meal

They get 2 meals per day, breakfast & dinner time. On Sunday, they get 1 meal at lunchtime or can be fasted.

I use OmegaOne flakes (between one and five flakes, depending on the size),
freeze-dried bloodworms (small sprinkling),
a periodic treat of a different type of OmegaOne flake (a single flake in this case),
or a bit of pea.
I switch his meals around every day so he's constantly cycling through different types of food. Not only does he very energetically attack his food, but he actually goes to the feeding spot and waits for food.

Thanks, I got him at petsmart in a small bowl w/ the nasty blue water... looking pittyful... I wanted to take all of them home, its a shame I didn't have a home for all of them.
I just gave him a couple blood worms as it was bloodworm time for the cichlids and I thawed out 8 cubes anyways... he got super excited for those, I bet thats the first ones hes ever had. I snuck in about two in the back of his tank for him to find later... Hes finally getting out of his shyness, and really loving getting to spread out in a real tank. I just want to slap the people that put them in the cups. He is flaring up at stuff outside the tank? I guess thats where hes new to the enviroment?

Yeah, he is probably uncomfortable with his surroundings. He thinks things will attack him so he needs to attack first. Most bettas calm down after a while but some (Like my Curly) will just flare for the fun of it.
