| I am so upset!!! OMG! Mr. Peach has dropsy, he is pine coning. On Thursday I noticed he looked bloated so I didn't feed him. Then Friday I gave him peas, thought he pooped. Last night he seemed a bit bloated & lethargic when I was looking at him before bed. I woke up this morning to a badly pine coned Mr. Peach. I did a water change and some meds. He seems perkier.
Once they pine cone aren't they goners?? |

| aww.. poor Mr. Peach! Can you get Kanaplex or another med with kanamycin in it? That's the one med that could help, just do like a half-dosing of it. It's very strong but at this point, it's what I'd use. |

| I've not tried that myself, so I'm not sure but I think there are some threads with that in it - how to do the epsom salt bath. Watch for distress on him from it, some Bettas can take it, others can't. |

| Yea, it's like the kanaplex.. in fact, I think using both the salt bath and kanaplex could work since he's a younger, stronger Betta but it's tough and I hope he'll pull through somehow. |

| Oh I'm crying right along with you, Allie. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was beautiful, and no doubt was thankful to you for rescuing him. I remember the rescue. You gave him a better life. Beautiful Dalmation, Mr. Peach, Rest in Peace. You were gorgeous and courageous. |

| Oh Allie, I am so sorry. Your post made me cry and I know how hard it is to lose them. Mr. Peach was definetly my favorite of all of your bettas. He is in betta heaven now. At least he didn't have to suffer. Hugs are being sent your way! |

| Hi Allie
I am so sorry to hear you lost Mr. Peach. Dropsy is a hard disease to deal with. But at least he didnt have to suffer much, (not much consolation when you loose a favorite)... poor lil guy... But know it wasnt a drawn out sickness and you took such care of him til the end.
Sending 's your way.... |

Sending 's your way.... | Thanks all. I kept saying I can't believe how fast he died. Gosh I barely had time to diagnose him. With LFS betta it's hit or miss. You can have one for a year or more...or just a day. I had him since January.
I can still remember winning Mr. Peach's trust. |

| I am so sorry for your loss Allie. Many of us have lost our beloved Bettas to Dropsy and its very hard to save them from it. It is possible, but very hard. Atleast he went quickly and didn't suffer very long. That would've been even worse. RIP in Mr. Peach. Natalie |

| Allie, I am devastated to learn about Mr Peach. I also remember his rescue, cuz it wasn't long after I got Poppet. It is a shocker for them to go so fast, but dropsy makes them suffer just too long, I have lost one to that, and it was awful. As with humans, it is hard to know what is easier to deal with. You know you saved his life when you brought him home, were a great betta mom to him, and have memorialized him in all of those beautiful pictures you took and shared.
It hurts so much, I know. Be strong, knowing he was a much happier little guy for having been in your care!!
Sending hugs.

| Allie,
Mr. Peach had always held a special place in my heart as I do love Dalmation Betta. He was one of the first I saw on the forum. He was so beautiful and I will miss him deeply. I do feel for you and extend my deepest sympathies and want you to know that I am here for you and if there is anything I can do to make you feel better please do not hesitate to ask.
My little guys have been told and all are sending finny waves of sympathy and small kisses of love to your crew to show their concern.
Take care and we will remember Mr. Peach forever.

| Oh Allie sweetheart, i'm so sorry!!! Kiz ( Kismet, named by pamd) wasn't himself then pineconed and was gone same as Mr Peach. The only good thing was that he was not like my baby girl Honey. She lingered pineconed for a few days, i had decided it was time to help her pass over. I was about to go out to buy whatever was humane when she died with me.
He will be swimming free now, maybe he's met up with family of his!! I do believe we'll meet again! |

I guess I can be grateful that he isn't suffering anymore, but a warning besides a little bloat a few days before pine coning would been nice. As soon as I saw his scales I KNEW he wouldn't last long. |

| Yea, I know how you feel. I still miss little Sora, our gentle and finnicky Mr. Blue Eyes. Your Mr. Peach sure reminded me of him. You did make his life happier and we've lost 2 to Dropsy ourselves. We're here for you. Quote:

| I'm so sorry. I wish our bettas could live forever. I guess they do --In our hearts and memories. I like to think they are in rice-paddy heaven. Free to swim, play, and love.
