Wandered into Wally World this afternoon, and even though they told me "No Betta's till the Wednesday after Easter" I wandered over to the fish department, and low and behold, a bunch of Crowntail's So I picked out what looked like one of the healthiest males, and he's now being accumulated to the tank I'll have pictures later tonight He seems like a really young Betta, really small body-wise, yet seems really big in spirit. I was researching names, and Poseidon was supposed to be the sea god, and it seems to suit him Pictures in a bit

Welcome, Poseidon!! We are excited to welcome you even before we can see you and we will like you we are sure as Cory is your daddy and we really like him. You are going to like your new home for sure, we have seen it and it is nice.

You have found a good home with lots of nice warm water for you to swim in and room to play so enjoy and have a good time. We want to get to know you.

Cory, we are so happy for you both. Enjoy your little one. Baby bettas can be overfed easily so be sure not to overfeed him. If he is getting bloodworms just a couple at a time 3 times a day and pellets he can have no more than 3 minipellets or 1 regular pellet 3 times a day. He can also have the daphnia (freeze dried) 3 to 4 times a week to help with his digestion if you have it or pea treats if you can get them. (I know that it is difficult when you are a student to get peas)

He's a Dalmation! Spotted! He is absolutely positively Gorgeous!!! He is A #1 and handsome and all the little girl bettas who see his picture are going to swoon! I mean it! He is a stunningly handsome young betta gent.

Cory, he is a fantastic find. You are to be congratulated. For them not having any betta, they sure came up with a find for you all of a sudden. You found a fantastic young man.

He is handsome!!! You can find some really good betta's a Wal Mart. Three of my boys came from there. I'm thinking about bringing home a new one tomorrow. We shall see! So thats what the black spots on the fins mean that they are dalmation? I was always wondering. Gook to know.

As the breeder told me when I asked, "just like the black and white spotted dogs are Dalmations, spotted betta are dalmations but with betta the color does not matter just the spots." So I am taking him at his word. Spotted betta are dalmations. This betta is spotted so he is a dalmation.

Yeah, I know when Zaboo in the tank, he just kind of sat there for a bit, then slowly started swimming around. Poe just hit the surface and explored everything as soon as he could

Poe? That is his name. I LIKE IT!! It is very fitting to name the fish of a student Poe. It has a learned sound to it. He looks like a seeker of knowledge too and sounds like he is a student in his own right.

How is he liking his new surroundings and does he eat well for you? He is a beautiful fish but tell him I said handsome OK?
