| Exactly the plan...real plants, and good lighting. I cannot wait to set it up.
That's what I always had before with my other betta. Jasper's first tank was planted. But the fin rot issue I have been having with him was a problem in the planted. I couldn't get the water as clean as I should for him. So I put him in a tank with smooth rock substrate. I twas working fine until I throw him on the floor and agitated the fin rot again.
But my lighting went in my 5gs...and those 10/12g tanks have a weird top that looks cool. The 10g sized ballast fit my new 44g so I borrowed them until we get the proer lighting for all the small tanks. Oy more money. Last edited by Allie; March 16th, 2008 at 02:13 PM.

| Hi!
To do a fully planted, you'll need to find way of incorporating 75watts of light in there, and I know a DIY CO2 system that does not need sciliconing back together all the time and a way to get away without a diffuser with certain filters! |

You should have seen our 120g when it was fully planted. he had a DYI CO2 canister made of a juice bottle. It worked great.
Wait, let me find a pix.......

| Hi!
Cool Allie! By my standards, that's semi-planted. Nothing in the foreground! Java moss or Echindorus tennelus would have been lovely in there. |

| That seems to be a pretty heavily planted tank.
I like the bare foreground. It looks like sand dune giving way to plants, just out of the tide's reach. It's a really beautiful tank. |

| Thanks all, my bf is awesome with plants. It was a perfect tank. Angelfish and tetra.
It's now our Malawi African cichlid tank...all rocks, wood and fish. |

I want to add some Echindorus tennelus and we were going to, but tank plans changes with my boyfriend. I could have left angels and tetra in there forever. |
