| No tetras do not go well with bettas. The only type that I have heard may work and I would really not chance it are the Cardinals. They are fin nippers and the bettas do not recognize them as threats and will allow them to get close enough to do it. They are also fast enough that the betta cannot get away from them if they decide to harass him/her.
It is very true that bettas do well with Otos, Cories (only occasionally and with the choice of the betta), and Plecos. This is mainly because they stay out of the bettas way, do not invade his/her space, and sometimes (as with the Otos and Plecos) are mainly out during the night. BUT this all depends on your betta and you should never introduce these fish AFTER the betta is in the tank. They should be in the tank and settled in to their own territories before Mr./Ms. Betta arrives on the scene. This is true of all territorial fish, Gouramis, Angels, Sharks, or any other aggressive or semi-aggressive fish. They should be the last added.
