I've been away from the forum forever and ever, but moving from CA to NY took a great deal of time and planning. We are now settled in NYC. Unfortunately, the stress of moving from my place to my folks before flying out to NYC proved to be to much for the fish crew. My corys, dwarf puffer, and my beautiful betta didn't make it. After moving, within 2 weeks I lost them all.

Anyhow - new york city is amazing, we are having a great time. The tanks haven't been unpacked yet, but it's just a question of time.

Hope everyone had amazing holidays! It's good to see so many familiar names in the forum.

I am so sorry to hear about your fish but am so happy to have you back among us. We will be here to hear all about the new fish as you get them and see the pictures as you get the tanks out and set up in their new home. Welcome back!!

Thanks guys. I do miss my little friends, and grieve that my decision cost them so much. I miss the companionship and antics of having fish around.

The upside (you've got to have a silver lining) is that I have two great tanks to rebuild. When I first came to the forum I knew almost nothing about what I was doing. I've learned so much from the wisdom of the experts here and the mistakes of others.

.....does it make me a bad person that I think a bustling tank of guppies might be cute?

Nope not at all. It is not a requirement to own a betta to come around and post. All you have to do is like them. We just do not allow anyone who hates them to post here...and I know this is not a problem with you.

Seriously, you are always welcome even without fish. We missed you.

We lost 2 of our Mahachai Bettas on the move here and I understand how you feel, but you did your best and really, that's all any of us can do. You gave them a good life with you and it's fine to want a tank of gups - they're energetic little guys and shameless suckups for food and fun to watch.
