My new little girlie
Look who I ordered tonight!! Waaay too much mascara and lipstick! Let's all hope she survives the trip from NY to AZ! If she's okay, I guess I'll have to give her some sort of stripper name after I get to know her personality, huh?!
BTW, I'm pretty sure that's her true coloring as is, although she'll be a tiny mite. She's only three months old, so her colors could change in shipping and as she grows up. I've look at a whole lot of fish and for some reason just fell in love with her when I saw her on aquabid.com. The seller has 100% positive feedback. I don't think those big black eyes are painted on from mascara, Photoshopped, or from Popeye. Look at those sweet lips.

Good luck with your new girl! She is a cutie for sure.. I love those painted on red lips! heheh.... wow... it sure does look like lipstick. awww.....
I hope she does well in the shipping ..and that who ever is mailing her, has given her heat packs to travel with.. I know a lot of folks buy fish during the winter months, but I worry about the cold weather and possible hold ups in delivery due to weather problems. It would seem that summer months would be the best time for shipping fish.

Keeping fingers crossed for a safe arrrival, she's a cutie. The first name I thought of when I saw her pic was LOLA (as in Gina Lolabrigita).

Misty was 2 months old when I got her and unbelievably small about 1/2" so she will be not a bunch bigger than that. I think she is so darling and I am so fascinated by those eyes and the lips are something else. I am kind of hoping that she will not have swollen lips as it would make it quite hard to see if there was a problem but otherwise I would snatch her in a minute. She should be able to travel from NY to AZ with no problems in 2 days with the 72 hour heat packs and good insulation. Those breeders from the colder climates do generally know how to pack their fish well. I have known a few from NY and they do pretty well. The only bad one I ever got a betta from was from Thailand and then through Denver. I do not like transhippers!

Thanks for the nice comments, all! I think she'll be in the best possible hands packing-wise. The seller sent e-mail very quickly after the auction closed last night and said he'd ship her today by overnight express. He wrote today that he wants to wait until Monday because he's concerned snow and freezing rain could cause a shipping delay. I'm really glad he's being that careful. And yes, he'll use heat packs. He has lots of glowing feedback comments, some of which mention his excellent packing.
I really like the name Lola, Drea! I just might go with that, depending on her personality.

While I'm waiting to meet "Lola," (or whatever her name will be) I posted some questions to the seller, who seems super and very caring about the fish he ships.
The seller is indeed the breeder (I wasn't sure about that). The little girlie's parents are a bright yellow Super Delta (father) and her mother is a bright red Super Delta. The breeder/seller said, "Also, out of about 100 sibling sisters she was the only one that came out like that." Good to know the background, and you sure wouldn't get this from PetSmart or Petco or Walmart.
I'm 99.9% sure this seller super-cares about the fish he ships. He also likes her "red lipstick."
I also asked if she'd be okay in the small tank with my three Habrosus cory cats -- is she fiesty or relatively mellow -- and he thinks she'll be okay with them.

The seller is Zephyrnyc. I'll let you know when she arrives! Weather permitting, he's planning to ship her Monday, so she should be here Tuesday.
Thanks for the additional name ideas, LuvaBetta and Barbrella! I agree with Drea, there's a lot of creative thinking here.
