Moved the girls to a 5 gal.

I thought my two female bettas needed something a little more stimulating in their lives besides waiting for meals. So I moved them to my male's vacated 5 gal.

The result was predictable, but they seem to be settling a bit more now.

I guess even fish girls can be "witchy" with one another some times. I am sure they will settle into their new digs soon. They are beautiful ladies for sure. Congrats!!

It's funny, but the females can do a lot more flaring at each other than the males.

Cute...my female is a feisty one too. She flares right back at Jasper thru the divider too.

I swear Holly (Cambodian) is more aggressive than one of my males!

The other little one has a split tail now. I assume too much flaring.

After seeing these two, any vague thoughts I may have formerly had of a sorority have flown for good!

My Holly is a Cambodian too. I hear they are more aggressive than other colors. Dunno if that is true or not.

From my observations and speaking to other people, I really think red bettas are more aggressive. I guess their colour matches their temperaments!

My red Cambodian female not only killed every other betta female I had in with her but the cories and otos as well. She ended up jumping out of a very small hole in the back of the tank and committing a type of suicide due to the fact that it was in the middle of the night and not a soul around to hear her needing help. She was the most violent fish I have ever owned and will never try to own another. I gave up on a sorority tank long ago. It just broke my heart watching them being cruel to each other.

I couldn't deal with that. I need my tanks to be totally harmonious. I love my two girls a lot and the thought of them hurting each other makes me ill.

I'm really sorry your little one jumped out. That's so upsetting.

Yea, that's how we lost 2 of our Mahachai betta on the move from florida to colorado - jumpers. Our only losses on that trip.
