Kismet's glued tail!? IDEAS??

Kizmet's glued tail
OK here a NEW question!!!!! Kiz is very lively and active has flared at the mirror BUT his tail seems to be 'glued' into a point as are his fins so i only got the full beard as a flare. I'll add a pic. He is full colour and not acting like a sick fish. I wondered if the API Stress coat i added may have made them sticky as that is how they look. However that was 2 days ago and i've changed the water twice since. I thought Sky's looked that way yesterday but he seems better today but HE did look off. Ideas?

Oh dear!

What are your water parameters? This only happened two days after you added the Stress Coat? He's eating fine? Active?

I don't know anything about that product, but hopefully someone else does.

In the meantime, I would do water changes using Prime and no Stress Coat. Pristine water seems to cure or help a lot of problems with no medications needed.

Don't try and make him flare. He could easily split his fins badly.

Hope there will be more suggestions!

don't worry, i won't make him flare. He is full of life and still as greedy as ever. I am changing water daily because new larger tank set up. Sky was the same a few days ago but his finnage releasing now.

His finnage is a lot like Sora's and Sora VERY rarely displayed his fins when he did flare, he only showed his flaring gill. I think as long as he's acting healthy, it's not a problem really.

Michelle, I am happy to hear Kiz is getting back to being his old self!!
Tell him to behave for a bit, and quit making you worry - it will give you wrinkles ( I Know!)

Hi!

I don't know. Maybe it's just his personality?

I have stress coat to. It's a declorinator that helps repair damaged skin and fins as well as helping to replace slime coating. From my experience it's a decnet product.

Here's what it claims to do on the back of the bottle:

*Contains Aloe Vera to promote the healing and regeneration of damaged fish tissue.
*Forms a synthetic slime coat on the fish to prevent to loss of essential electrolytes.

It also neutralizes Chloramines.
