| Oh my God, Cleo is so mean !!! As you know Cleo the betta male is in a 10 g with 2 frogs.
I feed him first blood worms. Then I fed the frogs with the droper. He started flaring at the frog I was feeding and wanted to eat from the droper. I pushed him back .... gently .... with the droper. Do you know what he did ? HE BIT ME !!!!!!!
I have had it. If he atacks the frogs he is going in 2.5 g all by himself.
Can you believe it. He knows very well my hand. He actually atacked me !
Uffff.

| Ooooh. That is SERIOUSLY cheeky. Bad Cleo. Bad! I'll take it you called the hospital to arrange for what was left of your lacerated finger to be amputated?
You gotta give it to them: they're really something! |

But, seriously, I worry for the frogs ....

| Lili....so sorry but this has made me really giggle!! These fish are such naughty cheeky little buggers!! I got a nip from the new boy 3 days ago, he jumped a good 3 inches out of the water during a vacum/ water change.
Amazing to think how small they are to us how brave and stroppy they are!! I've said it so many times before but it's those eyes!!! They melt your soul!! |

| Yeah he was probably jealous that you were feeding the frogs rather than giving him attention! I get bit by my female Cas all the time... |

| rofl.. what a character! that's what I love about Bettas! your Cleo sounds like Aslan & Sweetie - they're our most feisty bettas and love to give those nips. Bettas do get pretty jealous too, especially of each other and they will try to get your attention. |

| That reminds me of my late noffa. Whenever i would put my fingers near the surface to feed her, she would jump out and bite me. It was always s higlight of my day. Bettas will be bettas, just watch out for your frogs. |

My two betta girls are in a divided 10g; Butterfly will jump over to Dragon Lady's side of the tank if I'm paying attention to the "wrong" betta, and Dragon Lady does the same! I'm never sure which girl is on which side of the tank in any given day. |

| Yea, Betta are VERY jealous. When we give ours attention, the one "next door" is always as close as they can get and dancing to get our attention. Quote:

They flared at each other, too. I'm glad I have them separated, but if they don't have to STAY separated - they can just jump the divider any time - how likely is it that they'll cross over just to fight? |

| I think the chances are good. I've heard more than one story of bettas jumping dividers to fight another. It's not for sure that they will, but it does happen. One would have to get pretty riled up to jump over to attack the other though i think. Quote:

| I was thinking about putting dividers in my ten galon for Joey and W. Maybe I will just buy two seperate tanks. I don't want to take the chance. |

| If it makes you feel any better, I think that if the Collective (my barbs and glassfish that have schooled together) had teeth, I wouldn't have a hand anymore.
You can't blame the fish. You got in the way of food, it was letting you know that it doesn't appreciate it.
You may want to try to figure out a way to feed the frogs and fish at the same time, perhaps use a long dropper to feed at the opposite corner of the tank while the betta is eating. |
