Benji was only sick for two days. I tried everything to cure my little betta friend, but it was no use. Barney, his tank mate, misses him too. RIP Benji.

I am so sorry for your loss - I am sure you did all you could for him, and he did not suffer. Hopefully you will soon get another little betta friend to fill the hole left by Benji!

I will probably hold off on getting a new betta for a while. I love bettas but they do take a lot of time. Since Benji died I put Boston next to Barney in the tank so Barney wouldn't be so lonely. My 20 gallon tank is now divided into thirds instead of fourths. I will always miss my Benji though. He was my second betta as I bought Barney first. The five bettas I still have are doing fine.

I have missed being here too. There is just so much to do, that I don't have time to get on here much. I have occasionally come to read a few posts, but have not been posting myself much. I recently had knee surgery for a torn miniscus and they also found a lot of arthritus in it. The doctor wants to put Synvisc shots in my knee so that I won't have to have a total knee replacement for a few more years. My knee is still giving me problems and I now have a cane in case I need it. (sigh)

Awww. Sorry to hear that Benji has passed. Benji's now swimming with all of the other Bettas who have departed us.

Sorry to hear about the knee problems, too. We've been lucky wrt that kind of stuff here.

Thanks for the sympathy my friends. Yes, Benji is now swimming around with a lot of other bettas, including my lost Bessie and Bindi. He has a lot of friends as he has joined a very loving community of bettas.

I am sorry to hear of Benji's passing, Cherry Rose. I am sure he's having a great time up there swimming through bright pink castle ornaments and eating live bloodworms to his little heart's content. He sounds like he was really well taken care of and you did all you could. It's lucky he passed quickly, rather than through one of those horrid, weeks-long diseases. We're all there for you, and we know how you feel. Loosing a betta is really harsh.

I hope that your knee gets better. Having knee surgery is one of the worst things to do cuz you can have even more problems. I really hope that they won't have to do that in the near future. I wish you the best of luck. Natalie

I feel so badly for everyone that has lost one of their little finny friends. No, its definately not good for us. I like to think of all of them swimming around and playing in Xanadu. Then I don't feel so sad.

I love your poem about Benji and am so sorry to hear about the loss of him. I especially love the line, "I still see you swimming and dancing for me." Beautiful poem, and Benji you will never forget.

I truly believe we will all meet up again in the future, it keeps me going to think of meeting up with all my dogs,cats, my rabbit SSSOOOOO many fish and that my Nan and Grandad are there feeding them for me!! This may seem childish but i will be 38 in a few weeks and i hang onto this belief, it will be so cool. Hope the Bettas won't fight over there!!!

I know this is quite late but I am so sorry to hear about Benji. He was a real little trooper and quite a handsome little fellow. He will be missed. I know you take your betta parenting very seriously as do we all and it was hard to lose one of your little ones. Please know that his life was so much, much better with you than in one of the cups at the store and he loved you and being with you, I know it.

If there is anything any of us can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask. We are all here for each other and I do hope that you can bring yourself to give another little one the opportunity to be loved by you at some point.
