One of my good LFS stores that i have mentioned doesn't keep fighters too often but they are kept in mini tanks, each alone and next to each other but separate tank water. Today i saw a few beauties but one was covered in a cotton wool type fungus and torn fins and tail. Others looked slightly worn but great. i felt so awful for this one i asked the guy i have known for a while to end it's life as i felt it was cruel. He said i can't, he is being treated, he jumped into he next tank and had a huge fight with the other male. He was feisty and survived but torn up and the store owner wants to help him and give him a chance at life! HOW FAB IS THAT!! he is a £3.95 fish that is being cared for in the fish store!! So many would have used him as feed for a larger fish. He is in a bad way so this guy must really care!

He also has a tank full of females, bad news i know but i was amazed, he never keeps them in but did say a while back he would be getting them. They are in fabulous condition,mostly blue ,red and teal. Full color and no signs of stress!! all with intact fins.

I will keep eye on this store, i FEEL my next will come home from there!!

Wow that's amazing! There are not a lot of stores out there that will treat for anything other than an entire tank badly infected with an obvious disease.

That's great!! You don't hear to many stories of stores trying to help out the sick ones. I hope he has a chance at survival. Do you plan on checking on the little guy to see how he's doing? Natalie

Yes Natalie, they know i am Betta ( siamese as they still call them mad) and i have a contact there too ( my ex stepsons buddy works there and we get on well - he is old beyond his 17 years) I will call in for all my pet stuff to keep my eyes on them. If i can there are 2 males i want to buy for sure but they are both mid treatment! I need to know how to separate my empty 3 ft tank safely!! HELP ANYONE!!?? i may have funds to buy tanks soon but then there is the where do you put them problem!!

But so amazing to find a guy willing to give them time!! He has a stunning male in a 40 ltr tank an a female next door also in 40 ltr tank that he hopes to breed. I want a job here to help!

sadly the 4 boys died! One still going strong!! i was going to bring one home today if they had responded to their treatment!! Shame!! the shop owner keeping hold of the last one for him!!

Aw, that's too bad. Well at least they tried their best to save them. I hope the other one makes it through. natalie

I am so sorry to hear of the death of the little guys but at least they tried which is more than a lot of the store owners will do. I do hope that they keep their good record with treating them humanely and you can do business with them.
