| sounds like cataracts.. an anti-fungal treatment is recommended. fungus clear will dye things blue so take out decorations that you don't want to get dyed. it won't dye everything, but seems to dye a lot of the decor. |

| when we used it, we left the plastic plants in and they didn't get dyed, but the were colored plastic and i'm not sure if the meth. blue in the fungus clear wouldn't dye some plastic plants. |

(blanking on the word)... |

| yeah, i took his silk plant out and put it in my 29gal.
today will be his second and final dose of the meds...won't do anything tommorrow, and then a 25% water change on thursday should complete his treatment
if this doesn't work, should i do another dose, or try the anti-bacterial meds? or get new meds? |

| it's hard to say for sure without looking at him, it's going to be a judgement call by you as the best judge of what he needs. You may want to try Rid-Fungus if you're going with more anti-fungal treatment. We've used it a few times with excellent results. Quote:

| Now I know that the IBC and I will have differences on this little guy but I am going to say that by the information that I have from sources not associated with the IBC and fairly knowledgeable in the field of betta, that he is a double ray combtail. The IBC does not like combtails but I think they are beautiful and they try to make them the stepchildren of the Crowntails but they are a totally different animal. The personality of most combtails is sweeter and more docile and they are usually very loving. The Crowntails tend more toward spunk and feisty personalities. They are harder to develop a rapport with and can be naughty to tankmates. This is not only what I have read and talked to other betta owners about (here abouts) and my friends who are vets, but my own experience with my many bettas in my fishkeeping life. The combtails are just too different to be simply a "not up to standards" Crowntail.

| update: his eye is looking decent, i'm gonna try doing 10% daily water changes for a week or so, and see if that helps, if that doesnt do anything i will try another cycle of fungus cure
i got a blue hamster cave for him...he doesnt seem to interested in it, he just like to swim in the current from the filter, and chase bubbles that come out of the filter |

| yea, they each have toys they like & toys they have no interest in. Kairi loves her castle and took to it right away, but when Angel had it, she ignored it completely. |
