Aenara has passed away :-(

Aenara is not getting better and is now showing raised scales (dropsy symtoms). Her last epsom salt bath was very hard on her. She's laying on the bottom of her tank on her side, breathing very hard and fins clamped. She still swam up to eat this morning but otherwise she looks terrible. I'm worried she may not make it through the next few days.
I wish I had some of that stuff to euthanize fish with. I think it is time for her... She's suffering a lot now. All I can do now is watch and wait.
This is the worst part of having fish!

Hi Phlox
Im so sorry to hear about your lil betta girl. It is so frustrating and hard to sit by and watch them be in such distress and not know what to do for them.

My little baby has passed away. It was so hard watching her. She made several attempts to get to the top for air and then drowned in convulsions. Much as I wanted to help her get to the top for air I knew this was only going to prolong the inevitable. She is no longer in pain now... She was barely 1 1/2 years old. Too young...

Hi Phlox
sorry to hear your Aenara has passed away. It must be awful hard having a betta for 1.5 years to loose it. You must have been very attached to her.
The little girls really steal our hearts away...
Again.... Im so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss, Phlox.

It is hard to lose a betta but to have to watch is VERY hard. I am just so sorry and want to send my deepest sympathies. She had a wonderful life until she became ill I am sure as I know how you care for your bettas and I know she was one of your darlings.

Try to remember the good times although I know that is hard right now.
