I got my betta last night. No crown tails to be found.
I went to the LFS last night. I had the choice of a whole shipment of veil tails...I got to dig thru a bags of 40 Betta. But only 3 stood out. one which was peachy pink with blue eyes ( i don't like pink), a mustard gas looking one and a burgundy with greenish/blue on his sides etc...
I got the burgundy one and I am working my bf for another. There were too many to choose from.
The funny part is I realized once I got him home...he looks like my Nigel RIP who died in June. But he has green instead of the light blue Nigel had.
This guy is so curious...he even flares out at the cats. His name is Jasper.
I don't have pix yet either...2 reasons need more batteries and 2 don't want to stress the fish out.

cool over here we dont get much variation the bettas ive seen are either a dark red colour or deep blue which are still really pretty they also seem to be all veiltails

The veil tail Betta here come in lots of colors. We get the odd Crown tail bit I only see them when I'm not looking of course.

Jasper is gorgeous. He has very nice finnage too for a pet store VT. Congrats!

I was actually impressed with the shipment I got to look thru...quite the variety of colors...nice light blues, reds, dark purples and the marbled ones.

I am suppose to going to get another Betta today. I hope a few of my favorites are still left. Will have plenty of pix later of course.

Oh Allie, you make me sick with envy! I just read your post about getting a new tank today or tomorrow. Now another betta. Argh! My husband won't let me get more tanks or fish.

My boyfriend has been bitten by the fish bug too. My angle is...if he gets a new fish I get a new fish. He wanted new fish for the new 29/30g so he got Datnoids, baby ones. They came to like $60 bucks for the 2 so I figure what's a few more dollars for my Betta. Once I saw the female CT betta...I had to do some batting the eyes for that. lol I kept looking at them then him...like a kid.

Well I thought my husband was too, but he's just happy with the one tank. What is WRONG with him? He doesn't have an addict bone in his entire body.

This morning, he said he'd like to upgrade. But he wants to sell his present tank, then. I was like: no! No way. We're keeping that one for me. Unresolved to date.
