Keiji is sitting on the bottom of his tank a lot

I've just noticed that Keiji has been spending a lot of time on the bottom of his tank. He's very energetic when he's up and about, but I've seen him "laying around" more than normal.
It's possible that I've just not noticed this before.
Is it normal for bettas to spend time during daylight hours on the bottom of the tank?

Yep, its normal. Just like humans like to sit down to rest, I suppose.

Good. I am not always attentive, so I was clinging to the hope that I just didn't notice him doing it before.
