Para Guard (Seachem)

We have managed to purchase Para Guard. Can anybody confirm that this is safe with Bettas.

Flame's fins look a bit tatty (need a good comb) and we wondered whether to put some of this product in the tank.

We would be grateful for any information.

Hope everybody is well along with the little treasures.

Thanks

Jacqui

Re: Para Guard (Seachem)

I've never used it but it looks like it should be safe. Why not try Triple Sulfa for fin rot? It's been very effective for my fish and is safe.

Thanks Pholx. We will see if we can get triple sulfa. Appreciate help as although Tazmiche is just as concerned, I am told I have to learn for myself.

Re: Para Guard (Seachem)

I haven't found triple sulfa so will start to treat him with this as his fins are getting worse.

I am VERY VERY nervous of treating him as i have a HUGE love for this cheeky guy, well you all know what i mean!

I was nervous of treating my fish also ( first Neptune with finrot - and then Storm just to keep him alive). Once they started to respond to the meds, especially Storm, it gets so much easier, since it confirms that you are doing the right thing. They feel better, they look better. Go for it, Michelle, your confidence will come quickly!! You are woman, you can do anything!!! Go for it..........

Re: Para Guard (Seachem)

Michelle, Jacquie, how did it go? My guys' fins were also looking horribly tattered and dirty (it had this brown stuff in the webbing), and I was also hesitating to medicate, seen as we don't have TriSulfa here in Europe (as you know...) but I now regret having waited so long, as I've started medicating him with Tetra Baktopur for like 2 weeks and all the rotten stuff has now fallen off. If I'd waited much longer, half the fish would be gone.
