I am linking to a video on youtube, of my female betta Precious. Some of us have wondered if Precious is in fact a female and not a male, as she has some long fins.
Dave asked me if she has a egg spot on her underbelly and I believe that I spotted something that looks like a white pin head. Is that what I'm supposed to see? Not sure what the egg spot is supposed to look like. I bought her from the LFS and she was in a cup labeled a female. She is still pretty young Ive had her for about three months or so.
Any thoughts on her gender? Thanks all, ~ kate
Yeaaaa.... And thank you Phloxface... so she is a double ray crowntail! ummmmm.... sounds kewl! Wonder if I can find some photos of others so that I may compare? Any good links? I spotted the white egg spot, now I know for sure! thanks so much...

Thank you! I googled images for double ray crowntail and in the second row I thought I was looking at Precious's twin! She is so funny and inquisitive..always checking out who is walking into the room. AND she sure loves the bubble wand! heheh...must be ticklish....
Kate, I looked at the videos, and she is a beauty. What big fins she has!!!!!!!! Do you have filters or airstones/airline in those tanks? I love how they look.
Unfortunately my computer won't let me watch your video. But I am sure you are right that she is a female judging by her body shape from pics of her I've seen.

Hi Val, thank you.. she is a sweetie!
I have two air wands in that tank for when I had the divider up so that each betta would have some air flow. They love to play in the bubbles! I decided to keep the extra one up for the next female I will bring home. One air wand is the heavier stone which sits better on the bottom. The other is the sponge wand that sticks to the side of the glass. I found that when I bought the sponge wand to put in front of the divider, I had no where to stick it to. So thats a thought if you get one to put in front of the divider. The heavier stone wand will sit on the ground and not float. I thought that using the air bubbles may conceal the two males that I had together earlier ( now they have their own ten gal tanks), well it didnt work they could still see each other. I have a HOB filter that is an aquaclear 20 in that tank. Heard you ordered the plants, that is a great idea and I bet they will look great against the divider~
yea, the wand i sent the link to does pretty good at lying on the bottom. i might have to get more of those, at least one for aslan and angel since they enjoy playing in bubbles.
