Corys are winning - the betta is jealous

I'm comfortably ensconced in a corner of my couch watching my new babies. I've spent weeks making sure that my indigo is happy and healthy after his LFS rescue. Today was the day. Picked up 3 Juhlli's today. They are beautiful and spunky. despite all the "cory's are peaceful" rhetoric, these characters are NUTS!

They are all over the tank swimming about and ushering my betta from one end of the tank to another. I'm sure they are just exploring - and it's tickling me. Everything will settle down - but right now indigo is sulking. he is curled around a plant, while the Cory's have taken over the tank nosing around everything. I had no idea that my cable would be this unnecessary with the addition of a couple of cats.

Cheers!

lol.. that sounds like juliis alright.. Sora experienced that with 6 of the little buggers.. you can see in their video though - they were hungry! They'll settle down some but i think they always have some 'play time'.

Wow, I would love it if my Corys were playful like that! Mine laid eggs, which is awesome, but I still never see them. They hide in the back of the tank all the time. :-(

Yours sound like ours after they were 'settled in' a while. They might be more active under really low lighting, like dim room lights or tank moon lights.

There are so many types of corys out there too, I can't imagine that all breeds are the same. It seems to me that lighting, temperature (might be significant if yours laid eggs), food types, and tank layout can all play a part in this.

Everyone is still waking up this morning, so it's fun to see where they all have their little spots. I remember my daughters first day of preschool, watching all the kids make friends and find their favorite things.
