they're a desirable color and beautiful bettas.. i think yellow is definitely a a less common betta color.

I could kick myself. I saw the most beautiful mustard-colored one and I figured. Bah, if they have one now, they'll get another one again soon. It wasn't the right time for me to be getting a betta. Unfortunately, I never saw one like that again.

I do not know if they are rare as I know Miami Aquariums have them on eBay quite often and they can get the yellow CT pretty much anytime. (or have seemed to recently) They are gorgeous and seem to either sell out immediately or not sell at all. I have seen several of them go with no bids on eBay that I thought were premium bettas.

I have not seen many HM in yellow though.

oo the fish store has one and they never have betta colours besies red or blue i want it so badly!!!

umm yea but i have so many animals as it is i have somehow overcome MTS syndromeand have one tank.....so dont mention it ijust got over my relapse a few seconds ago looking at all the beautiful fish

All I know is for once I regretted not being impulsive, as I saw one weeks ago, once, and never since!

I am not even looking at fish store bettas anymore as I don't have room. At least not until I set up my ten gal instead of the 5 gal, and divide it. I am so crazy about bettas that I have a very hard time resisting the impulse to rescue at least one more. I would most likely get another female though, since I already have 4 males and only 2 girls. I would love to find a yellow female when I do decide to look.

All this talk about bettas makes me what to get one! (im a tiger barb breeder) but i already have 4 tanks set up and i dont think my mother would be pleased if i set up one more! (my bank account wouldnt like it eather!)

Its funny...
I just got back from Petsmart today, needed supplies and couldnt pass up looking at the female bettas. Well I came home with a female that I fell in love with. Her gills seemed red and I wanted to get her out of that cup she has been in for at least 5 days. Her body is yellow with red fins. I dont know what color she will turn out to be, as they do seem to change when you bring them home. I will post a photo of her in the betta photo section after she has calmed down and is acclimated to her surroundings. She is in a ten gal divided tank with Precious my other female... I have named her Darling.

Thank you Dave! Im pretty excited about it!... I have wanted to add another female with Precious since we lost Gypsy. I hope she does good here... She is having a blast checking out her side of the tank and all the decorations and marbles, shes very curious. Precious is busy keeping her eye on the new girl. This new one, Darling is the same size that Precious was when I got her, Im surprised at how fast Precious has grown, it doesnt seem to take them long at all.

In the store that left me crying they had 5 or 6 with a lemon coloured body and red and blue finnage. They were all VERY stressed as i said i bet they would be a great colour!

Seems to me since i've been on the betta section i read of alot more girls are finding home each day, it's great.

thank you! I agree... its really nice to see females showing up on the board. They have been neglected as a desirable betta for too long! I got my first female on may 10th and fell in love with the females. I've had another that passed after one week, sad to say, and now have another female as you just saw.They really are sweet ....
I would recommand a female to anyone!
I remember your post about your visit to the LFS and how upset you were over the conditions there. Its a shame really...
I hope my new girl does ok, her gills were a bit red when I saw her in the store and figured that her water hadn't been changed very often. She seems perky tho and keeping my fingers crossed that she will do ok here.

i'm sure she will be fine now she has a mummy! The girls seem to have such an innocence about them i think, i feel they say i'll smile at you but i won't build my hopes up that you'll want me!! whereas the boys grin and say Hey check out my tail baby!

I'm thrilled for our girls and will definately get more when cash is available!

Haha... yep! I know just what you mean.. heheh.... these lil girls are sweet and very innocent. Those eyes say it all...The boys.. well, they pout and sulk.. and throw tantrums lol... the lil girls are so accepting of their new homes and seem so grateful. I just wove them too!!!!

LOL.. that is so funny Tazmiche...Flame is something else! lol... He looks like my Phoenix by the way. Phoenix has his own moods. Since lately I seem to be giving attention to Glory and Precious and now the new girl, Darling.. well.. Phoenix ignores me when I finally get around to saying hello to him and will not come to the front of the glass, just keeps swimming back and forth along the back wall of the tank ignoring any of my attempts to get him to notice me. He is really jealous of any attention the others get. Funny how these Betta interact with us.
