In reading on liveaquaria.com I'm seeing they suggest: "The Tiger Barb needs to be fed a variety of foods including vegetables as well as meaty foods. Feed a quality flake food as well as live and frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms."

How do I feed them vegetables? I'm planning to get some frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms from my LFS, but what about the veggie part?

If you haven't figured this out yet...I just poke a blanched piece of zuccihini with a chopstick and stick it in the tank. All the fish get in on the action. I usually put in two, one at each end of the tank, when I put them in.

I haven't fed any veggies yet. Just blood worms once a week for the last 3 weeks. What you mean by "blanched"?

My rosy barbs love to eat peas, as do the rest of my fish. Take a frozen pea and run it under hot water or stick it in the microwave to thaw. Peel off the skin, and cut the pea into tiny pieces (I use a paring knife). Drop the pieces into the tank, and watch your fish go nuts.
