Black ruby barbs

Im a big fan of the black rubys, I noticed not much talk about em and barely anybody seems to own them, wondering if there not availible in your area or just no interest.

Actually it can be found here pretty often but not as oftern as TB. They are beauty with ruby Red face/forehaead. I am also fond of checkered Barb, B.oligolepis.
Probably cuz less known than TB thus LFS dont carry them as often.

Well Guys, I have a few here on my farm. Very beautiful fishes especially the male, I am just about setting them off to spawn, they've become a little scarce recently so I thought about breeding them for the pet shops. Actually they are one of my favorite fishes.

Some barbs don't show well in petstore tanks. Cherry barbs are one, and Black Rubies another, although both colour up beautifully in a home tank, especially in breeding colours.

I guess Black Rubies just can't compare to flashy Tiger barbs in petstores, so perhaps that's why they aren't often found.

I think they're awesome!

Ive had tigers as well, and wont ever keep em again, I'll stick with the black rubys, I did see some gold barbs today at a store I dont usually go to, they were good looking fish as well.
