Tinfoil barbs

I got some tinfoil barbs at my LFS I won't be keeping them because I was unaware of how big they get when I purchased them anyways I have a school of nine one inchers for now thatwere doing great but now they all huddle in one corner almost all the time. They are eating great and I cant see anything wrong but should I be worried?

It's going to be pretty hard to answer without more information... so here's a bunch of questions to get started

Did anything change around the time they started acting differently? What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? Are there any other fish in the tank?

I've had them less than a week the highest I've seen ammonia was. .25 right before a h2o change no nirite and 20 PPM nitrate the only other fish is a guppy the guy accidently gave me it's a 55 gallon and like I said I'm not keeping them but I want to make they have a good home while I have them. They did come out a bit more since I posted but still majority of time spent in the heater corner. Temp is 76/77

Out of curiosity, does that also happen to be the corner with the filter output?

It is. There are two filters and one is in that corner

It seems that your fish aren't getting enough oxygen. They are hanging out there because it has more surface movement and that means more oxygen. You need to add an airstone to get more surface movement.

Also having your water parameters will help further.

In nature, tinfoil barbs are found in streams and rivers... i.e., water with a current.

If it's not an oxygen issue as AlyeskaGirl mentioned, and if they're not displaying stress behavior from the presence of ammonia/nitrites, they could just prefer the fact that the water in that corner is warm and has some flow to it.

oh the irony!! i thought they were hiding because they didnt like the flow from the second filter so I turned it down! I will turn it back up see if that helps, if not add an air stone Im sure I have one laying around and Ill post parameters tomorrow
