In my LFS there is a beautiful display tank with some really nice barbs that look like this,

Which i have established as odessa barbs.
But then again most odessa barbs in google images look like this,

Are they all the same species?
Or are they 2 different species of odessa barb.
Can someone please help me out here

they both look like the same fish, and i would think they are. i think one just has more intense coloring due to good quality care or because the fish is in breeding colors

for example, the following pictures are of male cherry barbs. both the same fish, just different intensity in coloration.

Turns out, the black one is a male when it is mature and housed with females, and the pale one is a female
