thats an easy one!

the numerous corydoras catfish species are perfect for your tank. theses droll little animals will love your spacious tank and they stay under 3" long! They're very friendly and the other fish in your tank will never pester them. Keep in groups of 3 or more and feed specialized shrimp pellets as well as the occasional bloodworms they'll grub for in the gravel

great thanks
i love cory cats and have some in another tank with angel fish...
i was concerned that maybe corys being slow movers that they would be chewed on by the barbs...my tigers mostly focus on each other but the aurlius go after anything it seems..
maybe corys are worth a shot
thanks

Are pictus and ottos the same thing? I'd still go with at least some cories, they are so adorable to watch. But if you had enough room (and I have no idea if you do- don't know the sixes of the fish you have now) I'd get some ottos as well for algae clean up.
EDIT: Oh, and welcome to fishlore! You'll love it here.

I would recommend otos, personally. I have never had any cories or pictuses, but in my experience with these little guys, they are not only great cleaners, but they are also quick little buggers. I have a molly that for some reason objects to the thought of anyone else being in his tank, and he constantly tries to chase them, but they get away just fine each time.

Thank you all for the nice welcome and comments!

Pictus and cory cats are both wonderful fish...i will look around..i wouldn't want a pictus to have his long whiskers chewed on by the barbs and also don't want to see corys get scalped either..lol..anyway thanks all and happy holidays

Don't put corys with Tiger barbs. You're right, and they may very well end up completely "scalped".

thanks Barbarell!
i have seen "scalped" corys in the petshops before that were in barb tanks. i wouldn't want to do that to anyone...also i'd hate to see a whiskerless pictus or anything else...
How would a pleco do with barbs?

I really doubt a pictus would be chewed on by the barbs...they are lightning fast, always moving, and can use those barbels as defensive weopons if necessary (though they are geneerally only defensive as they do not attack provided their tankmates aren't tiny enough to be edible, i.e. guppies or neon tetras). Further, on the rare occasion that they do rest, they tend to do so in caves or other hiding places, which makes it unlikely the barbs would catch them unawares.

If you do get some though, make sure your fish store either uses a proper catching tool or is prepared to lose their net because their barbels tend to snag the nets and often the only way to free them is by cutting the net around the barbel (my LFS insisted on using a net and succeeded for two but then snagged the third and had to cut the net apart to free him...he had a bit of net on one barbel for a few days before it worked itself free, but he was unharmed). For the same reason, make sure they are at least double-bagged to help prevent leaks, and avoid using a net to move them yourself.

Actually, the fish you already have will completely stock your tank upon maturity (Silver Dollars get really big) so adding more isn't really a good idea.

Pictus need to be kept in a group.

thanks again Shaina and Barbarella,
my silver dollars are about 4 inches long and i just added another 2 tiger barbs (big mature whoppers) which now gives me 5 tiger barbs and 3 arulius barbs..I think there would be room for 2 pictus at least or a single other type...are 4 lined cats and pictus related? in my area the spotted pictus are called angelicus and then there is a four lined one..probably same genus.
