Is this a dead shrimp?

Hello, I picked up a bamboo shrimp to clean up my tank. This morning, got him yesterday, I found this in my tank by my rock hiding place. I'm not sure what a shed bamboo shrimp skin looks like. I'm hoping it looks like this, because I can't find the little bugger anywhere. Is this a dead shrimp or just his skin?

Update: Found him hiding under my rock. It was just his shed skin.

That's just his exoskeleton. He has molted. He is probably hiding in the tank. Plants, crevices, even out in the open are all places our shrimp have hidden from us. (One rarely looks out in the open when searching for a hidden target.)

be sure for any invertebrate to leave the exoskeleton in because they eat it to recover nutrients
