Need help for my Bamboo Shrimp. Please help.

I got a new bamboo shrimp today and I just noticed that his right leg for walking, closest to the front of his head is missing the foot claw part at bottom of the leg. Will it grow bacK? I don't want a shrimp that has 5 and 2/3 legs. I would feel bad lol. Please help me out. Is he going to grow that missing part of his leg back or not?

HI, WELCOME TO FISHLORE!

Well I can't answer your question, just wanted to say hi, and ask you to tell us what happens, and we will all know!

What else do you have in the tank?

I have a ten gallon tank, it has 9 black lyretail molly fry, 1 silver lyertail molly, 5 glo-lite tetra, and a bamboo shrimp.

I was also wondering, a small piece of bamboo came with him, do I let it float on the surface for him to hold onto and feed from or do I plant it in the gravel?

Welcome to fishlore!

Depending on how big/old the fry are, and if you don't decide to move them..
Your tank is wayyyy overcrowded.

A good guide line to follow is 1' of fish per gallon.

Mollies can get to be either 2-4 inches long,
and your glo-lite tetras will get to be about 1.5 inches.
Lets say your mollies get to be about three inches.

3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+1.5+1.5+1.5+1.5+1.5 =
37.5 inches of fish in a ten gallon tank.

You're bioload is going to be HUGEE and will result it very poor water quality and the death of your fish.
PLEASE get a larger tank, or bring some of the fry to the store.

Three mollies and your shrimp (they don't count in the 1' per gallon) would stock up your tank
or.
Your five glo-lites and shrimp.

As for your shrimp... i don't know much about them and hope someone who knows more can help you.

Welcome to FishLore!!

I'm not sure if they grow back or not, but it would be interesting to learn about. Your shrimp could be kinda endearing, you know? You could name him Peg leg or something! I think flaws create personality!

P.S. I'd move the molly fry out or soon you'll have a bazillion mollies. They're rather prolific breeders!

I am not 100% sure but I think as the shrimp molts it will replace the lost part. It may take a few molts but I should grow back.
