Hi! Welcome....

I really dont know, but I guess it is a sedative. Is there any chance something else will do? another type of sedative?

I hope someone else will come along and help though... Clove oil is usually used to sedate fish, but I really dont know if it will be bad (or if it will work) in such a big fish... I am just making gueses.

Like I said, Hope someone comes along and Good Luck!

I doubt it's needed, but, depending on the size of your arowana, it may be really helpful.
As Alessa said, clove oil is often used as a fish sedative, but I have no idea what the dosing instructions would be, or how you would apply it to such a large fish.

By the way, be careful moving it, not just for its sake, but for your sake, as well. In the Northern US, we've got a fish that has a similar build (long, extremely muscular), and they are known to give fishermen really nasty bruises when they're caught. They flap their length back and forth, and if they hit the body, it's like getting punched. I imagine that these guys are capable of causing similar injuries.

Well i hope your guys did read about Pimafix recently. That Pimafix cant kill fungus and bacteria, It just make them sleep. Well because of the medic content i guess it can make the fish clam/ less strees also. Adiashwath dont forgot the pH and temp are equal or it will kill your fish too. good luck

Mealworm, where did you read that? The stuff is actually a mildly antiseptic oil, so it should kill both fungus and bacteria.

Ah, yes, Pimafix is clove oil, which is mildly antiseptic. It is also mildly analgesic. In other words, it does relax the fish, but it also kills some fungus and bacteria.
