Red mist...

HELP!

I have a red-brown film on the inside of my glass, the water is clear, but it's making seeing the fish difficult!

The tank's been set up since July, and I've only lost fish due to them being eaten by my Ghost Knives (Vader & Voldemort)

tank details: 33 UK gallons (36 US), pH7, cleaned at least fortnightly, not over-stocked according to Fishlore advice levels, i have a big powerful filter, a good heater, a new light with UV, a peice of bog wood root (recommended by my pet store) and a few live plants. I feed a mixture of flakes, floating stick and meal-worm.

The stain is covering the glass, my algae eaters don't seem to mind it, but aren't cleaning it off, nor will a good scrub with a coarse sponge...

I don't have a test kit, but will be buying one next payday. Any help / advice welcomed!!

Thanks,

Boris

Hi Boris welcome to FishLore
I'm sorry, I can't help your problem but I'm sure others can.
However, for your safety and privacy, may I suggest you request a new user name?
This is a public forum and easily found through various search engines. I'd hate to see your e-mail spammed.
Here's how to Request a New User Name

Best of luck!
