Can any one help...

I would just like too know why everytime I do a gravel vac & PW change about 30% in my tank the water clouds up... Now it only stays cloudy for about 24 hours and then go's back too being super clear again it has always done this and it don't seem to stress the fish... I just like too know why it happens...THX Rob

it's probably just a small bacteria bloom. when you do a gravel vacuum, how much of the bed are you disturbing?

I only do about half with a WC every 4 weeks and just a WC with 1 filter cleaning on the off weeks so there is a WC every 2 weeks of 25-30% but I only get the cloudy water when I vac...

i'd increase your water changes and gravel vacuums every week, you're probably just stirring up a bunch of waste because you're waiting a bit too long between changes

ive always had that happen as well. i was always under the assumption it was just all the extra oxygen i was pouring in with the new water, as in, the 'cloud' was actually tiny bubbles

Thx I have tryed too do it every week and it don't matter it happens if I do it every week or every 2 weeks... I rarely get to much out of the gravel any way I guess it is because I have a lot of movement of water at the bottom of my tank and the filters get the most of the junk... I also get the realy tiny air bubbles with the the water and that clears in about 12 hrs and the rest clears by the next day almost to the hour of the gravl vac...
