how much foam is too much

i have now reached a mature water state and will be adding 2 small corys(albino) to my 10g with 1 m betta in it . pH ,hardness and alk readings are perfect. nitrates and nitrites are all satisfactory. i have 2 airstones and a 6" air wand pushing alot of air around. the two penguin mini100's filters are placed right and working great. I have not had one hikari gold betta food pellet hit the bottom. he eats almost one at a time from my hand...so ammonia levels don't exsist. everything is just wright but the foam. the betta has two large areas of stable calm water although he seems to love the streams and bubbles just as much. he inhabits a broken vase ornament as a shelter quite a bit. really cool. my wife says he is an acrobat. he hangs upside down from the 4 large mondo grass plants and sleeps in them at night. i notice a good halph inch thick layer of foam bubbles on about 2/3 of the surface. i have crystal clear water now for days but the foam has been around also. i see no water problems. anyone see any negatives with the foam ? i'm thinking the thick polymers and aloe's in the aquasafe(not aqua safestart) is causing the thickness of the water to retain the bubble /foam. i have some foam in my 3gallon quarantine tank also. all levels are great in it to. a protein skimmer is not something i want. i invested in several kinds of food for the betta and 2 corys so i don't want to put any more money in the tank for weeks. i have adaquate supplies on hand for adjustments if need be. where does the foam come from? thanks

sounds like a bubble nest like shawnie said, it's very common for male bettas (and some females as well) to make them. if you've recently filled an empty tank and used Prime i know that can leave lots of bubbles everywhere, but not just on the surface.
