hose water taste

Hi,
Filled up my new 250L tank with the hose. I notice a bit of a hose taste to the water.

Will the carbon (3x bags) in my canister filter remove this? If not I'll have to refill the tank by bucket and restart the cycling.

Cheers.

Welcome to FL!

did you use a water conditioner? (prime, tetra aqua safe, stress coat...)

If you did it should be fine. One should always add water conditioner to the water going in the tank.

Used 1 dose of stress coat, which did not effect the "hose taste" at all. Don't really wanna put another dose, in case I have to start over.

Note it's not a chlorine taste, it's the same taste you get drinking from a hose

So it turns out my tap water just tastes that bad; the hose didn't effect it at all. I normally drink filter so had forgotten.

Cheers.

I wondered the same thing LOL

If a water hose has been laying around for a bit it is probably best to run a little water through it before using it for your tank. I use a water hose to remove water as well as re-fill with it with out any problems.
