Is that w/ the high range ph or the reg ph test? How new is your tank? Have you added any supplements in it?

The PH shouldn't be an issue. The fish adjust quite well to various PH ranges. It is more harmful to constantly change the PH,and causes shock. If the PH in the aquarium is 8.2 I would likely guess that your tap water PH is 8.2.Since the tap water is where you will more than likely be getting fresh water for top-up and water changes,I would suggest not altering the PH levels. The fish will be fine.

Your tank is either in a mini cycle or it wasn't fully cycled to begin with.
Daily water changes of about 50% until your readings are 0 for ammonia, 0 nitrites with some nitrates showing.
7.4 ph isn't anything to worry about.

Shawnie is asking if there's fish in the tank or not.
I replied in your other thread here's a copy of it:

Also if you use Prime as your water conditioner it'll detoxify the ammonia for 24 hours between water changes.

I'm going to merge your threads, it'll be easier for you and the members to keep track of the answers.

Do you mean your whole filter or the cartridges?

Leave them in, Prime is just a water conditioner that also detox's ammonia.
