then there were two

I now have two fish in my 75 gall tank ! I started out getting 5 fish , but they didn't make it for some reason! not sure why ! anyway i know that i cycled it for like a week so all is good there ! havent checked the pH levels ! so that might be an issue !

Generally speaking a week is not enough time to cycle a tank unless you used BioSpira or Tetra Safe Start. Have you ever read up on the nitrogen cycle? Do you have a test kit? Unless you are testing your water parameters, you have know way of knowing if your tank has cycled.

In case you haven't read up on the nitrogen cycle, here's a link:

It took me 6 weeks to cycle. What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels?

I'm starting to think that you weren't cycled. If that is the case, you are going to need to do 50% water changes everyday until your tank finishes cycling.

If you don't have a test kit, I would highly recommend the API Master Test Kit for Freshwater. It is the most accurate and in the long run cheaper than the strips.

took me 9 weeks for my 75 gal with fishies ...poor things... I DONT MISS THOSE DAYS!!

fish acclimate to many ph's ..so I dont think that would do it...getting a reading will help alot !
