water level

Is it normal for a 20 gallon tank to loose an 1 inch of water in less than a month

Oh yeah. My 20 gallon can lose that much in a little ovr a week.

Yep same with mine, but Ive only got a 16 gallon (i think) tank

Are you doing weekly water changes? Water changes are important for your fishes' health, and each week you can you can add a little extra water to make up for what's evaporated.

But if you add more water, remember it isn't treated, so you may need to adjust your chemicals. That's why weekly partial water changes help, too.

Put a lid and a plastic, flat tank cover over your aquarium and it will catch the evaporation and rain back onto your fishies?
