All of my other tanks have untraceable nitrites and ammonia. The ph in all of my tanks have 8.0 ph, and the nitrates are 5.0-10.0.
In the 10g holding tank where "skittles" the baby sunburst peacock and the baby pleco is at the nitrites are 5.0, it was a sudden rise in the past 4 days, the last test was less than 0.5. The last water change other than today was on 3-22 (i have a chart on the comp where I log all my values for my tanks and when I do my water changes/vaccums/add new fish/or any other imp things in the tanks)
I changed the filter over a week ago from the cheapo whisper to a biowheel, however I used an old cartrige for the filter, and have been doing weekly water changes on all my tanks, and weekly vaccuming (it comes up to every 3 days doing either a water change or vaccum) so I really don't understand what happend today??!! skittles looks fine and so does the pleco, no stress I immediately did a water change and added the aqua life complete (my lfs version of amaquel complete they manufacture it themselves, it will be advertised soon in one of the aquarium mags in may I swear by the stuff, its worked wonders for my other tanks)
There are 2 plants in this tank, and 2 adf's in there, skittles (btw all of my fish eventhough I have many all have names lol) isn't even 2 inches long yet and the pleco isn't 3 inches long so I no the tank isn't overloaded yet... the filter is rated for a 20 gallon tank....
Could this be a fluke in my testing today? Or a mini cycle w/ the biowheel
