Water Parameter Database

OK, call me obsessed, but so many experienced people here keep close track of their water test results. I am pretty proficient with MS Access, so I am building a database to track all of my water quality parameters.

Here are the "fields" that I have so far:
Date
Time
Water Appearance (cloudy, clear, etc.)
Temperature
pH
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
% Water Changed
Dechlorinator (brand name - currently use AquaSafe and want to see what the differences are between different brands)
Action (anything that I did - incresed heater setting, added pH down, vaccuumed gravel, etc.)
Comments (plenty of room to type in things that don't fit nicely into the other fields)

I am considering making some other tabs that include the fish (behavior, date added, signs of disease, etc.) and maybe a medications given tab, and a filter change tab.

Any ideas are appreciated. If I can make this a pretty comprehensive database, I would even be willing to share it with folks here. I will intentionally leave out any macros in case I do share it, for those (like me) who are computer-virus wary.

Bring on the suggestions!!

Good Plan... I was going to do the same thing, but on the web so it could be accessed w/ an smartphone....

I think you should start off w/ a tank tab, and then put everything else under that. Then when you have more than 1 tank, you don't have to have more than 1 MDB.

Maybe add alkalinity and KH?

You'll have to post some screen shots when you're done...

Good Luck!

I thought about the tank tab after I posted - Great thought. I forgot that I am in the minority in that I only have one tank to worry about. Again, only thinking of myself, I forgot about saltwater parameters. I also do not have a planted tank, therefore maybe a plant tab and lighting tab?

Man this is getting pretty involved! Maybe I should market and sell the program?? JK this is really just for me, but if it comes out nice, I am very willing to share with FishLore members - God knows you have all helped me so much already!

Any other suggestions?
