Re: do i need to dechlorinate?

i do not recommend using bottled water, use tap water and treat as per normal with dosage on label.

do you only have 1 tiger barb? i see you have a 10 gallon, i recommend moving fish to your larger aquarium when ready which would be a good start, it is easier to maintain water conditions in a larger aquarium, temperature for one is easier to control, and fish will be happier with more space and will be make better viewing.

Good luck

Re: do i need to dechlorinate?

When I had only one 10 gallon tank, I used "Poland Spring" water for my water changes. The fish were fine. So I suppose it's OK. I didn't dechlorinate it, of course, as bottled water doesn't contain chlorine. But you may check with the manufacturer's website to see if they're adding anything to their water.

Anyway, dechlorinated tap water is perfectly fine. Why buy bottled water when you can use tap water?

Re: do i need to dechlorinate?

If the bottled water is distilled it has no chemicals at all in it. It is like a person trying to breath pure oxygen, they just aren't equipped to deal with it.
