Compatability

I've got a male beta, a pleco (supposed to be one of the smallest species,
not sure which one), and ALOT of snails, in my 10g tank.
I don't mind the snails cuz of the cleanup they provide, but i do have a bit
much. I've come across a site saying a dwarf puffer - Carinotetraodon
travancoricus, is a good choice for a small aquarium(1 per 5gallons), and eats
snails.
Can I get any verification on this? or some better ideas?
I've tried the lettuce/cucumber thing, but only getting about 4-6 each try.
And it doesn't seem to matter wheather I wait 1-2 hours, or overnight. The
number I get on the "bait" is roughly the same.
I'm not expecting the fish to rid the tank..just keep them down a bit.

Thanks for any help.

Hi
A betta and a DP are not compatible. Unfortunatly someone would end up very hurt or killed.

Dwarf puffers will eat small snails, but unfortunately they will also attack your betta. They are known fin nippers. Even a small pleco produces a lot of waste relative to the fish's size, so IMO adding fish to help with your snail issue isn't the best option.

I've found that a snail overpopulation often tends to happen due to overfeeding. What is your feeding schedule like? Maybe you could cut back on the food and continue the manual removal that you've already been doing.
