| can anyone recommend a fun tropical fish? hi everyone, i currently have a 13 gallon tank, and have three mollies at the moment. I like these fish, because they are really active swimmers and great breeders. But now i want to introduce more fish, i want some tropical fish that are colourful and great to watch for my tank. Can anyone recommend any fish that you have that are really entertaining? thanks |

| A Dwarf Gourami would be a nice addition. They are very colorful and often interactive with their owners. |

| I agree, a dwarf gourami would be nice. It can be difficult to find good, heathy DGs though.
A betta would also be a nice choice.
Both will control your fry population. |

| my kuhli loaches keep me entertained and have a very small bioload so you could have the recommended 6 to keep them active and keep you entertained.
Edit: the only thing with bettas is they could turn on the mollies unless you got a tank divider. |

| 13 gallons is an odd size, but I think itmight be too small for a full group of 6 kuhlis. 3 might be better, and they should still come out. |

| kuhlis have a tiny bioload so it shouldnt be a problem but yeah 13g is a bit of an odd size |

| I am going on the assumption you are talking about the 68L started Nov. 7th? My conversion thing says 68L is 18 Gallons. More room, Yeah!
Bettas can have different personalities. What works for one person might not work for someone else. I read some people do keep bettas and mollies and some people had trouble with the mollies nipping on the bettas.
I have never had Loaches so I looked them up. It says Kuhli Loaches need an established tank (true anyone?). If this is a new tank you won't be able to add them for a while. They are cute little things though. I like schooling fish as I think they are fun to watch.
Edit: Ok, 60 liters is about 15/16 gallons... |

| Dwarf Gouramis are great fish. Like said above, it's hard to get good healthy ones.
IMO, steer clear of the betta. Most don't make good community fish and do best on their own or with small bottom dwellers.
Too many times we've seen that it works for a little while then one day you look and someone is hurt or killed.
Cories are alot of fun, they like to be in groups. |

| I would suggest against bettas, if you want a second opinion ask in the betta section they will all say no to bettas in community.
Cories are seconded if you get the smaller ones the advantages to cories and kuhlis is they help keep the bottom free of food and make tank maintenance easier . |

| I feel like a weirdo for always pushing snails on people, but a Mystery Snail really would be a fun addition to your tank. They're cute, interactive, they clean up old food, they're cute - oh, wait, I said that already.... Mystery Snails also don't have the problem with population explosion like pest snails. |

| if you're looking for a colorful schooling fish you could try a small school of tetras like neons, cardinals, or flame tetras for example. |

I'll second the Convict Chiclid also. They have a lot of personality and are always doing something. I got one for my son and it is doing just fine in a 15 gallon right now. If we get another one I'll probably get a bigger tank but we all know that is the MTS taking over again lol. |

| The convict might grow up and kill whatever is in that tank. Any of the loaches are fun fish. I've had a yoyo loach and now have a synodontis angelicus and they are always on the move. The synodontis angelicus will also change appearance as it grows from stripes to dots. |

| I have several convicts in several different tanks and I would really not advise them to be in anything smaller than a 20g. And my convicts are fairly aggressive and can even make my Jack Dempseys back down, so I couldn't advise putting them with anything other than other NW cichlids. The mollies would not be able to hold their own against them. |

| Add some Black Skirt Tetra's if you have a powerful water flow somewhere in the tank. They just line up and get pushed away from the water flow. If you don't have a water flow go for a Dwarf Gourami. My favourite one is the Flame Gourami. |

| Cories really are interesting little fish when in groups. They can sometimes be a little shy if by themselves or in a group of 2, but you could probably have a group of 4 in your tank. Is it a longer rather than taller tank? Because the cories do need floor space to forage in :-) |
