Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Stocking Cichlid Ideas

Hi All,

I also have a new 55 gal tank that I'm currently cycling (fish-less ;-) ) I have two EBJD's that are about 1,5inch to 2inch. I have read that they don;t grow fast at all...so I need advise.. I also want a cichilds tank...something colorful would be nice, but I have the two EBJD's that are currently in my 37 gal community tank.

I was thinking about putting the two EBJD's in the 55 gal since they will get big (if they stay alive for that long :-) )..but then I would only have the two of them swimming in the big 55 gal tank. What's a man to do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you Ken! ..didn't mean to hi jack someone elses thread. :-) Apologies!

Thanks for the 55g cichild link. It seems like I will have to keep my 2 EBJD's until they get to big/aggressive for my community tank, and then hopefully I will be able to get them their own tank.

Regards,
Riaan

Since you are in Nashville you have a great store there in the city that deals with cichlids, at very reasonable prices.
I don't remember the name but I will give my brother a call in the next few days and get the name of the store for you, you may already know it.....
If you go with cichlids I would check this place out, I used to drive down there about every other week.

Hey Brain,

Are you referring to Aquatic Critter? It not, that would be awesome if you can find out for me. I can't wait for my tank to be fully cycled...I have the Texas Holey Rock ready for them to explore. :-)

Have a great weekend.
